The RPG (Galvanic Skin Response) biofeedback System is a psychophysiological recording and intervention/training procedure that provides a wide range of psychointeractive activities requiring high concentration, reaction time, stress regulation and visual-motor coordination. In short, the system is designed to teach users how to dealwith high-performance tasks in a relaxed manner. It also provides quantitative progress reports regarding relaxation and performance levels by showing a balance of electrodermal records at the start and end of the session, and performance can be compared between training sessions.

This system precisely measures minute-to-minute changes in your skin’s conductivity. The technology is based on fundamental principles of human physiology. Changes in your skin’s resilience correspond directly to changes in your stress or relaxation levels, which are influenced by your thoughts, feelings, and mood. Every thought, mood, and action you take causes changes in your perspiration, muscle tension, heart rate, breathing, skin temperature, and blood pressure. These changes are usually so subtle that you don’t even notice them. The term biofeedback is commonly used to describe the use of a device to help amplify these changes as they occur. Biofeedback is an excellent tool for identifying the factors that influence how you feel and react to various situations.

How it works. The RGP biofeedback system measures changes in your skin’s electrical conductivity. Conductivity rises with skin moisture because wet skin conducts electricity more efficiently than dry skin. When you relax, your skin’s moisture content decreases, as does its electrical conductivity. It is about an extremely accurate reflection of changes in your physiology. This data is converted into auditory and visual signals, which provide biofeedback. By combining multimedia technology and biofeedback, you can enter a new dimension of personal training. Practicing the Mind Games that come with the device will help you change your learning, concentration, and relaxation patterns. You may notice early on that you are more relaxed in your daily life, being more present and focused without “burning out.”.

The system offers seven “levels” of Mind Games.

This version offers two levels:

  • Level 1: Psychophysiological
    • Level 2: Sensorimotor.

Level 1 includes a set of basic biofeedback exercises. Here you can learn how to move objects on the screen while relaxing and concentrating. In this regard, it is a “classic” biofeedback training program.

  • These are great for improving concentration and learning to focus on the big picture while paying attention to specific details.
  • You maintain a calm demeanor while attempting to “beat the clock.”
  • Train attention, reaction time, and memory. The more difficult version of this game can also improve your peripheral vision.

Level 2, known as “Sensorimotor,” is made up of several independent modules that actively train your responses. While Level I allows you to train your autonomic response up, down, or both, Level II intends to develop concentration skills with greater emphasis, monitoring and displaying your skin conductance (linked to your autonomous system) on the screen in real-time and recording the data in a file..

  • Recommended for meditation, activation (energizing), or trance induction.

Working on this module with a positive curve allows for conscious control of your adrenaline levels. Then you can choose an optimal strategy for completing a given task.

This module series was designed as skill-based games. Each can be played at three or more difficulty levels.

When playing these games, the goal is to get the highest score while maintaining a positive mental state. The total score includes both sensorimotor (eye/hand/reflex) and mental abilities. Each module has multiple versions that vary in difficulty or biofeedback options.

Your attention and ability to relax will change on a daily basis, and by playing Mind Games, you will develop new behaviors and strategies that you will notice applying to everyday situations. Consider your ability to relax and concentrate in stressful situations, such as taking exams, or to be fully immersed “in the moment” in sports activities while still being able to relax and regenerate at will.
